Visitors

My family and Keith's brother Trevor came to visit us this last weekend for Grace's blessing. It was way too short of a trip! I wish my family could come visit every weekend!

We took everyone to eat at Babe's Chicken, which has southern comfort food like fried chicken, chicken fried steak and anything else containing five million calories. They have the BEST biscuits and the sides are all unlimited (as are the calories, I'm sure). So, you get the point. It's delicious.

After Grace's blessing on Sunday, we all came back to Keith's parents house for lunch. I made kalua pork, rice, chinese chicken salad, pineapple and rolls. Keith says this is the classic "Carter family event" meal (which is kind of true). Basically, it's what we make anytime we have a family event and are feeding a big group. But it's always delicious! Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the spread.

Grace also watched her first Superbowl on Sunday, without pants, I might add. (Is there a better way to watch football?) She's way ahead of me, though. I'm pretty sure I didn't watch my first Superbowl until I met Keith in college.

Grace, Paige, Grandma and Grandpa watching the game.

When anyone comes to visit or when I'm on vacation, I have a hard time squeezing in any activities that don't involve eating, but we did manage to go to the Sixth Floor Museum in downtown Dallas. It's a museum all about the assasination of John F. Kennedy. The museum is inside the old schoolbook despository where JFK was shot from. It was actually pretty interesting, even though I already knew mostly everything from watching too many JFK conspiracy specials on the history channel.

Grandpa and Paige listening to the audio tour.

Grace thought the museum was a bore.

This is just above the sixth story window, where JFK was shot from.

There is a white x permanently marked on the road, where he was assassinated.

The best part of the weekend though, was that Grace got to see her cousin, Paige! I love that they are so close in age. I can't wait until these little girls can have cousin sleepovers and go to EFY together and do other fun cousiny things. I wish they lived closer to us!

Thanks for coming to visit! We miss you guys!
