Kasey's Baby Shower

My best friend Kasey is pregnant with her first baby (due this summer).  It has been so fun being pregnant at the same time and I'm SO excited that we will have babies so close in age! Plus, she is having a boy and I'm having a girl, so naturally they will fall in love and get married one day - no pressure or anything!

I was able to go out to Florida a few weekends ago to attend Kasey's baby shower and it was so much fun to have some girl time! I left Grace at home with Keith so they got to have some much needed daddy-daughter bonding time and Keith even mastered his first pony tail!

Her adorable nautical-themed shower was Pinterest-perfect down to every last detail!

I couldn't believe her friend MADE this cake! I totally thought it was from a professional bakery. I really need to learn how to do fondant one of these days...

Sorry for all the random food pics but they were all so cute!

The two pregnant ladies! Can't wait to meet our little ones!

Nature Walk

Last week, Grace and I went for a little "nature walk" around our apartment complex. She is mildly obsessed with flowers and loves to pick them. I can't wait to take her to see some of the bluebonnets that have started popping up all over Dallas.

She calls these red ones "cherries."

This was her first time wearing overalls so she was still trying to figure the whole concept out :)

I've recently learned that Grace has a serious bug phobia. I tried to show her some Roly Poly's to convince her that bugs aren't all bad. She was actually warming up to them and decided to find one herself.

Unfortunately, she ended up discovering a giant beetle instead and this was her reaction. She was crying hysterically and saying, "no more buggys!" I couldn't help but laugh...

After the traumatic bug incident, I consoled her with a coconut ice cream bar. Worked like a charm.

Sorry for the picture overload. I just can't get enough of this little girl!

Easter Weekend

We had the best weekend celebrating Easter and watching General Conference! We missed watching the Saturday morning session because Grace was invited to a friend's birthday party. The party was sort of a dress-up theme and she wore one of her new spring dresses.

I even got ready myself, which is a pretty rare thing these days. Note that I'm NOT wearing pajamas or workout clothes. My hair is also NOT thrown into a bun on top of my head and I AM wearing makeup. Sadly, this is an event worth documenting.

(22 week bump!)

The birthday party was at the cutest little girls clothing boutique in downtown Plano. Half of the building is a store and the other half is set up to entertain for parties. They had a huge selection of dress-ups and a little "stage" where the girls could do karaoke and dance. Between getting dressed up, dancing along to the Frozen soundtrack and eating a giant chocolate cupcake, Grace couldn't have enjoyed herself more!

That night, we had a little girls night with my mother-in-law at La Hacienda Ranch, while all of the guys went to priesthood session. Grace was SO good at dinner and we had a nice visit with Suzanne. Grace surprised us all by downing the chips and salsa - that salsa is NOT mild! I guess she just loves Mexican food as much as her mama does :)

It wouldn't be a trip to La Hacienda Ranch without a ride on the coin operated horses out front!

After dinner, we went back to Grandma's house and grace took her tricycle for a spin. She was looking pretty tough with her sunglasses...and princess basket.

On Easter morning, we did a little egg hunt at our house followed by German pancakes (which I  made for the first time by the way - SO good!) and then watched the first session of conference. Please try to ignore the stains all over our white couch...

Grace was pretty excited to find out that the Easter Bunny had visited Grandma's house too! (Just what we needed...more Candy!)

Grace LOVED the play-dough she got in her Easter basket. I'm not sure why it took me so long to discover how amazing play-dough is. She was entertained for hours!

It was such a fun and uplifting weekend to be able to spend time with family and hear messages about our Savior and his gospel. Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

A little bit of Grace.

Just a few things about Grace lately...

- She's been really into copying Crush, the turtle from Finding Nemo. She walks around the house now saying, "woah, dude!"
- She calls her pink rubber ball a "socky ball" (soccer ball) and whenever she kicks it she proudly says, "I sock!"...which obviously sounds like she's saying something else. It makes me laugh every time.
- No matter what she is eating, she absolutely MUST have a plate for it. It could be just one fruit snack - and I don't mean one pack, I'm talking literally one individual fruit snack - and she will go get a tupperware (because thats the only cupboard within her reach) and use it for a plate. We end up with tupperware all over the house and I don't know which ones are actually dirty, so I end up washing all of our tupperware at least every two days or so.
- She's been the best helper with feeding Chipper. Sometimes I forget to fill his bowl but when I go to fill it, I see that Grace has already beat me to it! Sometimes she likes to just top his bowl off randomly throughout the day and ends up putting in a little too much food to the point where its spilling over the bowl onto the floor. At least I know Chipper won't go hungry with her around!
- She identifies everything by its color. It could be cars, flowers, anything, really. Everywhere we go she's constantly saying, "Wook! A wed one! A boo one! A weh-wo one!"
- She also says bye to everyTHING, emphasis on thing, because they are usually inanimate objects. (She usually works in the colors here too.) "Bye boo one!" We were at Target and she didn't know the name of the store and apparently saw red everywhere, so she just said, "Bye wed!"
- She loves playing doctor and especially loves checking up on the baby. She puts her stethoscope on my tummy to check the baby's heartbeat. It's pretty cute.
- A not so cute habit she's picked up lately is that she is always taking her diaper off. If she's not taking it off, she's reaching her hand down the back of her diaper...and you can guess how that turns out. I really need to get the ball rolling on potty training!
- And lastly, the phrase she probably uses the most throughout the day is, "Daddy work!" To which i respond, "yes, Daddy's at work." This one actually breaks my heart. Between working full time and going to law school full time, we don't get to see too much of Keith these days. Now, even if Keith leaves the house to walk Chipper, Grace automatically chimes in, "Daddy work!" We can't wait for him to graduate this spring so we can see him more often!

Checkin' out some turtles at Northpark mall. Big surprise - she named them all Crush!

Her first haircut! (About 2 weeks ago)

Filling up Chip's food bowl. Its a tough job but someones gotta do it.

Cutie pie.
